Zain Group has rebranded its entire Africa operations from Celtel to Zain. The move brings the mobile operator’s Middle East and African mobile operations under the same name. Two-thirds of the firm’s over 50 million customers are in Africa, and the 14 country operations across Africa will immediately rebrand to Zain. These include Burkina Faso, Chad, the Republic of Congo, the DRC, Gabon, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

Here in Blantyre, Malawi there were fireworks last night at midnight (1st August,2008) to mark the rebranding.
